Mambu Payments enables fintechs and banks to connect to clearing banks and clearing houses, access payment schemes, and automate payment operations.

This page covers what you need before you start and what implementation looks like end to end.

Before you start

Two things need to be in place before your integration can begin:

An onboarding call with us – We will map your banking setup and payment flows to the Mambu Payments API and design your integration together. Schedule a call to get the process started.

A clearing bank or clearing house direct connectivity solution – Mambu Payments connects to your clearing bank or clearing house via SFTP, API, message broker, or Swift. This agreement is between you and your clearing bank or clearing house. Although we can provide pre-filled templates to help speed up the process, lead times vary by bank, so we recommend starting early.

What implementation looks like

1. Develop and test in sandbox

Once onboarding is complete, we will set up a dedicated sandbox environment pre-loaded with sample data. You can start building immediately and use our simulator to mock live bank or clearing house responses. We will also create a shared Slack channel for dedicated support throughout.

2. Go live

Once your integration is built and your connectivity to your clearing bank or clearing house is in place, we will agree on a go-live date together. We will connect your bank accounts and run a penny test to confirm everything is working before you process live payments.

How long does it take?

Integration timelines vary depending on your banking setup and the complexity of your payment flows. The main variable outside your control is your clearing bank or clearing house's timeline for setting up direct connectivity. We will provide a clearer estimate during the onboarding call.
